4 Color Printing + 1 Pantone

i trying print using 4 colors plus 1 pantone.  although able image maintain part, logo on of great significance becoming distorted.  doing:

 

1- lock of objects pantone need preserve

2-select remaining objects , go recolor artwork

3- select custom

4-select 4 colors

5- have tried every option in menu-- have used document swatches color library default basic cmyk (i have print in cmyk), have tried hue shift, tints , shades, exact etc..  have tried checking , unchecking of boxes (combine tints, preserve grays, etc.)

6- return assign colors window can drop of colors current colors new area of menu on left.  helpful not solve problems entirely.

 

i tried changing spot colors process colors in print dialogue menu did not work either.

 

please help!  need printed asap!!!

lock objects spot color... select ... edit > edit colors > convert cmyk.
