How can I place good screenshots into InDesign?

 

this trying well...is there correct answer given? how know answer 1 correct answer noted in forum? question identical 1 below. screen shots off website.

 

i working on guide in indesign distribute our customers shows step step instructions on how use our software.  taking screenshots of software , placing them indesign.  have tried many different ways , can't images clear.  have taken screenshot , pasted illustrator, photoshop, paint , saved many different file types, jpeg, gif, tif, etc.  looks great in illustrator or photoshop after place image indesign looks awful.  looks blurry on screen , after print.

 

if paste image illustrator , copy there , paste indesign image looks better.  perfect.  know isn't right way , images aren't saved/linked way.

 

does have suggestions?

firstly.

make sure have view>display performance>high quality display checked.

 

secondly.

there is no "good way" produce screen shots.

they 72-96 dpi in resolution , adjust them go hell in handbasket.

if producing keep them @ whatever resolution are...
