Thread: Boot Screen in Low Res with RGB lines

hey all,
new ubuntu , have been using week now. going great, updated nvidia drivers, did initial updates etc... , awesome boot screen shutdown screen.
(today) installed few updates update manager thought essential. after doing so, when restarted computer , got should have been boot screen, sat few seconds few horizontal rgb lines , booted login window... have done nothing else pc besides updates.
when shutdown same few rgb lines, in top area of monitor @ 135 degree angle, if has idea causing this. greatful, not big deal rather annoying, miss ubuntu boot screen lol

other graphics card users including nvidia may black screen flashing cursor , short duration plymouth.

1 fix create file.

gksu gedit /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash
, add option framebuffer=y, save file.
then

sudo update-initramfs -u
plymouth has hard dependency on mountall trying remove plymouth remove half os. advice is, if don't want graphical boot uninstall plymouth themes.
