Thread: Ubuntu 10.04 CD image won't fit on 1 GB USB stick (?!)
i'm trying use unetbootin create bootable usb stick can install ubuntu 10.04 on netbook. have cd image standard ubuntu 10.04 desktop install cd (ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso). it's 699 mb, should fit on 1 gb usb stick but...unetbootin keeps getting partway through making bootable usb stick, stops error message similar this:
it's impossible usb stick out of space. install cd 699 mb, there no possible way 1 gb (931.5 mb usable) usb stick full. formatted usb stick (fat32) beforehand sure there wasn't taking space. , got error message within seconds of starting, before unetbootin had chance copy few files.code:the directory /media/88a1-8221 out of space. press 'yes' abort installation, 'no' ignore error , attempt continue installation, , 'no all' ignore out-of-space errors.
what's going on here?
in case matters: i'm running unetbootin (no idea version, there's no way tell) under ubuntu netbook remix 9.10.
