hi,
i'm new joomla , can't life of me figure out how create horizontal menus. have theme supports them, don't see way of setting them up.

the display of menu facilitated module. so, have publish corresponding menu module in appropriate module position.
you can find out module position template 2 different ways.
(a) open template edit in template manager , press big preview button. see module positions template.
(b) open browser , type your-site-url/?tp=1. command show module positions of template.
