404 Not Found Error - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi all,

i'm using joomla 1.5.10 on following website. http://www.whitbychamber.org

i want activate search engine friendly url's can drop option.com...... stuff in url

so have gone in , specified in global settings first checkbox search engine friendly urls set yes. should point out have defualy menu specified know not issue.

when go preview 1 of pages here following error

404 - component not found
you may not able visit page because of:

1.an out-of-date bookmark/favourite
2.a search engine has out-of-date listing site
3.a mistyped address
4.you have no access page
5.the requested resource not found.
6.an error has occurred while processing request.
please try 1 of following pages:

if difficulties persist, please contact system administrator of site.

component not found

how can fix can more friendly url. have no desire download 404sef component

is there reason if don't mind me asking why don't want 404sef. had same problems having installed , went away. sorry post doesn't much.
