Can't get the aspect ratio right!

hi,

i've shot hd footage using canon hf200 camcorder in mxp mode 1920x1080 24 mbps.

i'm trying generate video web , followed instructions/settings in thread:

however, footage comes out stretched vertically -- if bald, i'd cone-head - slight exeggeration idea :-)

i'm confused that. 1920x1080 16:9 ratio. 1280x720. why footage getting distorted?
