Thread: slow video card in AAO?

hi all

have acer aspire 1 160gb, 1ram , 1.66 ghz processor , running ubuntu 10.4 on it

reasons video documents extremely slow , cannot watch video on full screen @ normal speed (if video takes more 1/3 of screen goes slowly)

there way solve or it's computer it's not powerful enough....
, in case (for next time have buy one) determines video speed? need more ram or more powerful processor?

for flash videos, there isnt on way opf cure (it might if run lovinglinuxs 'flash aid', dont know).

videos being played of hdd, cpu matters more ram once you've got decentamount of ram. eg- run old 'junker' computer media player doesnt have cpu power play 1080p (currently p4 2.53, 512mb, 6600gt). if increase ram 1gb or higher, , still wont play 1080p.

however, cpu video decoding. modern video cards have @ least degree of hardware decoding support (vdpau nvidia, xvba ati) , can drop cpu requirements huge amount, cpu doesnt need decoding, shunted of video card has better capability decode video.

people intel atoms (like acer) , vdpau nvidia card can play 1080p videos.
