Thread: auto-mounting ipod, need shortname=mixed

i running xubuntu 10.04 upgraded 9.04. not believe ipod-specific problem.

in 9.04, when plugged in ipod, not mount automatically. created fstab entry mount it:

/dev/sdb2	/media/ipod	vfat rw,user,noauto,exec,shortname=mixed	0 0

the important part above "shortname=mixed" because, on ipod, have directories in caps. without option, directory for, say, "rem" show "rem" causes manner of problems scripts sync between computer , ipod.

enter 10.04, auto-mounts. auto-mounts willing live without it. however, don't know how turn off. love configure auto-mount "shortname=mixed" option not know how either.

i've looked in /etc/fstab , there no entry it. i've poked around in /lib/udev/ , found ipod stuff, nothing says (that can see) how mount it. that's i've done can't find else leads me see look.

i don't know happened, it's working now. rebooted i'm pretty sure that's it, , didn't fix it. reboot, even, wasn't fix this.

directories fine , work expected.

if stumbles upon though , can tell me can change these settings (for example, know no way have not mount "/media/ipod" though easier me if "/media/ipod") feel free still answer.
