Thread: Installation issue with Grub and my HD?

hi folks,

please forgive think long post, want include information possible help. post question here because boot issue , not strictly server issue, although trying install.

bought used server, motherboard has ide connectors hd , cd/dvd. board asus cuv4x-d. rather old board, introduced market around sept. 2000.

2 ide hard drives came mobo have presented problem describe sata problem.

wanted use sata-hard drive storage.

bought sata-to-ide adapter. installed hardware , booted ubuntu server cd.

went fine , installation smooth.

when initial reboot started, error comes.

error says, error: out of disk. next line shows grub rescue prompt.

appears grub can't found.

motherboard has primary , secondary ide connection. have tried connecting adapter both.


please, appreciated,
