Thread: HP Monitor won't turn on after upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04/error code included

hey all,

updated hp media center m7640n ubuntu 9.10 10.04 , upgrade went smoothly. updated , downloaded right stuff guess, told me needed restart computer. did so, , when did monitor turn on, there blinking _ @ top left of screen, monitor go power saving mode, pc still on. hear hard drive doing well.

got htc evo , took video of booting process , got chance pause , code flash on screen split second:

don't know do! have bunch of movies , tv shows on linux drive can't because can't machine boot.

please!

also, i've tried several different versions of linux. opensuse 11.3 gets boot screen, select boot regularly , see status bar move inch, monitor turns off.

ubuntu 9.04 1 seems boot correctly. guesses why?
