Thread: Update and package manager problems

i don't know if new or not since new ubuntu. have installed , uninstalled ubuntu 4 times due various errors. right getting error messages anytime try use update or package manager , same message both:
e: malformed line 54 in source list/etc/apt/sources.list (uri parse)
e: list of sources not read.
go repository dialog correct problem.
e:_cache->open () failed, please report.

have figured out myself new ubuntu , can hardly find out is, let alone trying repair it. help? , anonymous replier if can solution problem.
