Problems using Picture Package

hello,

i using photoshop elements 8 on windows xp.  trying print multiple images on 1 sheet.  when try use picture package, set paper size @ 8x10, choose letter(4)3.5x5 layout.  gives me message "the layout selected larger paper size have chosen; clipping occur."  4 3.5x5 should require 7x10, 8x10 should enough.  click okay anyway, , shows me layout 2 pictures on it, instead of 4 asked for. can drag additional pictures on end 4 of them.  can drag photos around within border adjust cropping occurs, doesn't give me full original picture work with  i.e. head cut off here, in original, not.  also, pictures appear distorted.  have not tried printing them out see if distortion there or appears on screen.

 

also, able print 2 - 2.5x3.5's on 1 sheet of 4x6 paper.  however, under layouts, not give me choice of 2 2.5x3.5's.  restrictive can't customize want.  , if so, how can achieve this?

check in setup printer if correct paper size selected, , whether portrait or landscape mode selected.

 

in dialog picture package, did check "crop fit" near bottom?

 

i haven't used picture package in psev.8, used in earlier version make passport pictures (2x2"). remember had crop picture in editor in order in control, rather "crop fit" algorithm in program. little automated cropping ok.
