Does Audition MIDI actually work for anyone?

this serious post , not ad-hoc gripe.

 

i have started use audition mid , not work! have today read many of posts of forum , can identify other similar problems - example - midi note off messages not being recorded re-transmitted synths.

 

i suggest continuing problems post here in summary give community 'feel' audition regard midi benefit of users , developers alike.

 

former sun microsystems test-lead engineer, here imy appraisal of adobe audition midi capabilities:

 

1. not work. appears audition design/development team designed simplistic stand point. appears functionality not thought through; , looks midi features not adequately tested in real-world scenarios; regarding connectivity midi hardware.

 

2. documentation sparse , not sufficiently explain features , usage.

 

 

audition audio editor awesome - there's nothing else imo; midi design , testing team(s) have let application down dreadfully. senior designer /managers in adobe - if read - need talk adobe midi developer , test leads , let them know destroying reputation of adobe , audition.

 

again ask - audition midi tracks work; , people integrating standard plugins midi in adobe multitrack sessions acceptable realtime usage? suggest compile our expericen here give clear picture adobe - have not tested functionality.

 

my experiences have been:

 

- takes forever initiate midi tracks

- scaning vsti's crashes audition - every time

- midi note-off messages regurlarly not sent external hardware synths

- minimal documentation on how record , play external hardware synthesizers; on monitoring them when playing , on recording multiple midi tracks @ once or on setting connectivity severla external hardware synths (among many other documentation short comings).

 

these issues sorted likes of atari 20 years ago. of functionaloty should work - bread , butter functionality.

i going start own thread, 1 do.

 

i launched myself midi, , here results audition 3:

 

* works far.

 

* i've got midi keyboard controller (m-audio axiom pro 49) , can record stuff in audition far.

 

* i've loaded various vsti plugs audition via vsti plugin manager, , work.  (one's native instruments demo called absynth, , i've got 5 fl studio softsynth plugins working.)

 

i'm running audition 3.01 on win 7/64-bit dual core system, , i've got midi keyboard connected via usb 2.

 

all that's (and different experience, i'm afraid).  however, i'm going try out out using axiom controller controller soon, , i'll report here.  1 person has suggested me using usb keyboard , audition yields poor results other recording.  i'd interested know if here has had different results using either usb connection or standard midi cable connection.
