RTMP connections stall unless network 'bypassed'

we have been having strange problem flash media server 4 (development edition) gratefull if shed light on.

 

situation:

 

we set dev fms test content clients before pushing onto cdn , evaluating various hardware encoders claim support flash..  appears working after install; samples played on localhost.   furthermore able add  own items vod folder , view them flawlessly, again on fms localhost.

 

however when tried view them on network things became more interesting. 

 

when viewed on network rtmp seems 'stall'.  happens after varying amount of time 1 second 20 seconds flv/f4v file.  http transfer of vod files seems better buit still seems 'stall' quite often.  if bypass network , connect client flash media server x-over cable can stream rtmp or http perfectly.

 

i took @ logfiles in %apps%adobe/logs/access.log , can see connection being opened on port 1935 expected

 

->  connect-pending    session  

->  connect    session       

->  play    stream       

 

the stream stalls between 2 , 50 seconds sample video, leaving me viewing "buffering" bar.  there no entries in access.log or elsewhere give indication anythign has gone wrong until see messages stating:

->  client-pause    stream  
->  client-unpause    stream 
->  stop    stream

->  disconnect

http streaming works great deal better - around 50-70% of data coming through before in turn 'stalls'.  when thought things not weirder... if try webcam-test (for interactive tab on fms4) happily stream live rtmp seemingly forever.

checks made:

 

we have (i hope) eliminated fms server firewall, gateway, client firewalls, checked ports open (1935/80/8080 etc) still no closer cracking stalled rtmp/http issue

from explained there doesn't seem firewall issue since able connect , start playback. if there issue have failed connect @ outset itself.

 

also mention able see working fine on local setup. it's when deploy on public internet began seeing stalling while viewing streaming content. on internet there added latency compared lan.

 

- when video stall, resume play after while when buffering bar goes away?

- using sample video player comes fms?

- if using custom video player increase netstream buffer time

- client-pause , client-unpause logs odd, wonder why seeing them unless pausing/unpausing stream while playing.
