How do I remove intersecting lines?

so have admit, kind of new illustrator, , trying figure out how remove intersecting lines of drawing made, cut in vinyl cutter in 1 piece. thing is, not sure how so. here file, in case helps in solving problem.

first things first

 

select 2 concentric circles shift clicking them selection or direct select tool

 

then go object>compound path>make or command (control) 8 make compound path of 2 circles

 

then select crossed rectangles , compound circle path made

 

with 3 selected go pathfinder panel , click on first icon on upper left (unite)
