Thread: Where did ruby go

hi all,

installed ubuntu last weekend 10.04 lts. windows user blown away ease of install , quality of software.

now, problem:

installed ruby with: sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.1-full

install seemed work fine. how start it? documentation says type "irc" command line not work. no ruby item can found in th gnome applications menu. "find" not find file called ruby (or irc).

can suggest something.

start synaptic menu , search on ruby. if there, open terminal window , enter locate ruby find out library in. if in standard path, should able type name in terminal window , start.
