Thread: Constant error on DVD-DL burn

hi all

i'm on 10.04.
64bit (but dont think 64bit related)

have been getting annoying error while trying burn dvd-dl media iso using growisofs.
here command used (to burn backup copy of xbox360 game)

code:

growisofs -use-the-force-luke=dao -use-the-force-luke=break:1913760  -dvd-compat -speed=2.4 -z /dev/scd0=nameofmyiso.iso

now, every single time, around 50%, error:

:-[ write@lba=aacf0h failed sk=3h/write error]: input/output error
write failed: input/output error

i've been searching around , found threads people complaining error since 2005, not single 1 of them presented solution (some hint kernel issue, i'd have no idea how fix. i'm noob @ linux).

tried burning using imgburn under wine, same error, @ 50%.

frustrating, ive burned around 6 coasters far , dvd-dl expensive keep on trial , error.

have idea on how fix this?

p.s it's not faulty media before asks. tried on mac , worked fine. also, drive worked before, before migrated machine. considering error has been around time, i'm pretty sure it's not hardware related (but ofc, wrong).
