The nVidia 258.96 drivers crash Photoshop CS4 (64bit)

i have latest nvidia drivers installed yesterday , noticed ps cs4 crashes within 15minutes of use (by crashing display driver , crashing itself). solutions issue? advanced user (11years of pc usage , it-student 5 years etc.) either ps or nvidia driver issue, have posted both manufactor forums. try next disable gl acceleration ps settings possible temp. solution this. love know what's causing this.

 

ps. gfx card temps fine etc.

asus p5q deluxe mobo

e8500 @ 4ghz cpu

msi gtx 275 gfx card

4gb of ram

as workaround try various advanced opengl options.  there time long while when using cs4 , (then-current) older driver set, , recall switching basic opengl settings helped me work around problem later fixed in newer drivers.

 

i've noticed opengl implementations pretty actively being maintained video card makers in time after photoshop cs4 , cs5 released.  it's serious application has put real pressure on driver makers tidy software.  opengl getting can rely on now.
