Desperately need help to restore!!! - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

to i'm newbie website development understatement, friend suggested me use joomla. thought it's easy use predesigned interfaces @ first, start running difficulties when want change layouts & designs. stalled website development, , ended asking friend design me. cut story short, thought backup database/web contents created backuping entire folder (naive! know )

i format pc , having troubles restore contents created. mean stuff totally gone now??? need them back, don't think can write articles again. if joomla can't through, there other way @ least articles wrote back? maybe use dreamweaver, expression web, or other design programs?

please please please help!!!
