Play button doesn't work -- doesn't select menu item

by default, first thing selected in encore menue text button says "play all".  so, can start dvd playing pushing enter button on remote, pushing play button on remote, or pushing play button on dvd player.  should be; dvd (not blu-ray).

 

when burn blu-ray (instead of dvd), play button on remote , play button on dvd player not work.  can use enter button on remote.

 

i ran second test burning short movie clip simple button in encore.  again, results same--no problems dvd, messed blu-ray.

 

i playing dvd , blu-ary on same player.

 

any ideas?
