Thread: load-dependent cpu throttling
hi,
want set small server based on old notebook found recently, set ubuntu 10.04 on old ibm thinkpad a22m. 850 mhz p3 mobile cpu supports throttling , not direct frequency scaling, played around bit.
found out "cat /proc/cpuinfo" gives me frequency of 697 (or close 700) mhz rather 850, mysterious, because set bios settings "max performance" anywhere found it. ideas?
ok, usual installed laptop-mode. found place configure cpu frequency/throttling part in "/etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/cpufreq", however, support of throttling seems weak. can set special mode 3 possible states (batt only, ac or batt+ac), , that's not want do. i'd rather have daemon running adjusts throttling settings t0 t7 according system load. disabled control , installed powernowd. however, didn't solve problem either, since complains missing "governor", not exist on "throttling only" machine...
highly appreciated!
regards
