on friends computer using wireless internet connection, accidently removed gnome, window manager available on computer. log in screen, entering correct login details returns me login menu.

not sure how possibly "accidentally remove gnome", on right lines trying do. however, may lot easier add ubuntu-desktop using wired connection, if not doing @ moment. without gnome system, wireless lot harder manage.
