open images shrink away to about 8% of normal

i have similar problem adobe acrobat. using cs3 , when goto "file", "open" photoshop starts dinging until file chosen. file open starts reduce in size steps. file may open @ 100% or larger progressively gets smaller until around 8.5%. stops of course small work with. scaling of image starts cycle on again. started 2 weeks ago. first acrobat noticed in photoshop. lightroom , illustrator not affected. suggestions how stop this?

well, sound curious me.

does rescaling let off long enough work eventually?

 

this not cause mischievous person have installed event script on machine?

(i wouldn’t know how achieve in acrobat, though, possibility seems slim indeed.)

as unexplainable photoshop-problems might try trashing prefs (after making sure customized presets actions, patterns, brushes etc. have been saved , making note of preferences vou’ve changed) pressing command-alt-shift on starting program.
