Publish To Web Options

i newby lr student trying grips software , whole load of edu stuff.

 

the reason post think might of come accross process related defect, may want know about.

 

during process of setting private folders on server, fine, came accross issue upload facility, service providor said lr software wont allow me want do. not worried that, have found work around below.

 

my process flow

firstly import, make amendments & export hi-res & lo-res images of changes. i select rename files on export dd-mm-yy-seq

 

secondly want publish web, cannot directly upload work. using "preview in browser" web & go following folder view exported files zip these , upload them manually, fine:  c:\users\my name\appdata\local\temp\agwpgexport-nn/.  pleasenote operating system windows vista.

 

the issue

filen naming - mentioned above, problem choose rename files on export in "libary" tab.  issue can see prospective people viewing online files, may quote online reference number, have lr file names, not exported file names. not have option in "web" tab. have cross match online photos exported...sometimes going difficult similar images.

 

possible solution

may suggest popup box option under "export" box on "web tab", similar "export" button on "library" tab. user can choose options renaming, feel can remain seperate of templates in "web" tab, renaming can take place before files placed in template assigned folder & code written.

 

i laso notice on of templates file name not show modified files ie dd-mm-yy-seq-nn.  feel introducing on export deffinently help

 

current work around

present work around reimport exported hi-res files different folder & use them "preview in browser" & zip & upload, 800-1000 images take sometime & lr going out time saving, feel rename files option deffinently support ethos.

possible other options on popup box

export local browser - (already assigned button - preview browser, no rename function)

export server (already assigned button - upload, include server details here)

export folder (already assigned button - export, include folder & renaming options here)

 

obviously newby & might of missed trick on how included, foward comments.i can supply video explanation if required.
