Eclipse IDE for writing API Clients

hi,

 

i have fundamental question on the  development environment need develop frame plugins. can we  use open source ides such eclipse ide c/c++ developemnt or  netbeans ide freely available on net develop plugins for  framemaker, or have use microsoft based development  environments alone purpose?

i not know exact answer i'll share thoughts.

 

the adobe documentation explicitly indicate microsoft; however, document written long before eclipse came around. so, don't think documentation last word on issue. however, have never heard of pulling off, and, given relatively small percentage of frame users develop custom software, it's there hasn't been grand effort so. believe thought, if possible, have extremely savvy eclipse; is, far more casual developer. use both eclipse , microsoft software development , quite stumped if asked make eclipse compile fdk client. again, not skilled ides , writing software part-time necessary more efficient technical writer.

you might consider posting inquiry there, there considerably larger pool of developers follow list forum. if successful in using eclipse, i'd encourage post details there well... think number of interested.
