Internal limit on unsaved operations?

hi,

 

i have script duplicates page many times on many pages.  runs fine, large number of copies, runs fine bit crashes indesign.  changed script incrementally save composed file disk every 10 pages, , stopped crashing.

 

so... there history of actions / undo steps / else indesign tracks getting overflowed?  possible turn off?  tried app.actionscriptundomode, says property read-only.

 

on side note, possible create 'soft' links in indesign?  placing same object hundreds of times , resulting .indd file quite large.  can place actual object once, , make remaining placements fake / aliases of original .indd file doesn't big?  using document.place(), , object.duplicate();

about linking same file... links palette like. there 1 header row, total number of links, this:

... or there 1 link per placed object? if so, links same?

as far know, , if understand question correctly, links in indesign "soft", unless images actuelly pasted document - have no link image on disk.
