Thread: Can't find grub to edit

hello,

need edit grub sort out blank screen on startup problem 10.04, can't seem find it. instance, command:

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

brings blank nano screen , caption [new file] @ bottom of it. assume command should open grub file editing, can't find 1 in location, makes open new one. there file called grub-save in directory, seems empty.

can me please sems basic question? cheers.

do chance have more 1 ubuntu installation (i.e. older version on 1 partition , 10.04 on another)?
