Can we merge content of two elements into one element?
hi ,
i've following edd -
element (container): p
general rule: (para | content | frame)+
attribute list ....
element (container): content
general rule: <text>
attribute list: .....
now xml looks :
<p .... <content ... > hello </content><content...> forum users </content...><content...> need </content> </p>
now,
when open xml in framemaker, writes content of "content" tags on separate lines -
hello
forum users
i need help
instead, want write content on single line -
hello forum users need help..!
i can use programming langauge (like c or java) read xml , merge content of multiple "content" tags single "content" tag.
my question is: possible above process using read/write rules capabilities of fm or doing in edd..!
please help..!
thanks

basav,
you need add formatting rule content element states formatting text range. not necessary add special formatting inside text range element, although can if want. not have framemaker open, not sure of exact name of text range element; that.
the point unless specify element text range, framemaker assumes element formatted paragraph, hence line breaks.
