Problem with Brush + fill (gap) in 7 & cs4 (pic attached)

so starting sometime yesterday every time draw brush (stroke path), fill paintbucket there gap between fill , brush. happening in 7 , cs4. see attached image  i've tried googling problem search terms (brush, gap, fill) generic.  i've reset photoshop settings , brushes in both 7 , cs4.  i'm lost, appreciated.

 

 

in screen shot can see gap between brush , fill, there no gap filling marquee.

 

what happens if fill first, stroke?
