How do I get article intros on the front page?? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi all,
i've created news section, categories
now i'd have thumbnail title , intro of each article show on front page.
i'm not computer illiterate, i've used wordpress years, why can't figure out on own?
why have complicated???? (sorry, getting discouraged here...)
