Problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended version 9.3.4 reading Inventor 2009
i able generate 3d pdf files autodesk inventor cad models (e.g. .iam files) using adobe acrobat pro extended. constrained use inventor 2009. when installed acrobat pro extended, able make work after installing import3d update at:

recently (9/5/2010), updated acrobat pro extended version 9.3.4. believe following update, lost ability read in inventor 2009 files. acrobat pro extended gives error messages:
"exception has been raised" followed by:
"acrobat not open 'file' because either not supported file type or because file has been damaged (for example, sent email attachment , wasn't correctly decoded). create adobe pdf document, go source application. print document adobe pdf."
this happened when first installed acrobat pro extended , before installed import3d update mentioned above. tried re-installing update installer gives error message:
"no qualifying products found apply update."
note inventor 2009 allow 1 "save copy as" pdf format, creates 2d pdf snapshot of current model view -- same print pdf.
i suppose 1 thing try removing acrobat pro extended , re-installing without 9.3.4 update, import3d update -- if necessary, won't able take advantage of further updates (e.g. security updates) acrobat, seems bad situation.
has else had problem? or me?
i may have figured out causing problem conversion of inventor 2009 3d pdf. after playing around number of inventor files, discovered conversion worked fine when there no references external files. example .ipt file (part file) seemed convert fine. believe problem on form 1 obtains edit->preferences->convert pdf->autodesk inventor->edit settings->import->assembly, check box "use root file directory" not checked. oddly, default , i'm pretty sure tried setting conversion options default. in case, seem able perform conversion of inventor 2009 3d pdf problem solved guess.
