Thread: How to format DVD-RAM to UDF?

hi!

today i've found cache of old dvd-ram disks. bought couple few years when experimenting backup solutions using them. anyway, cut long story short, came formatted fat32. tried format udf windows, format failed , unable format them udf or fat32, thought there incompatibility between drive , them or damaged them.

today decided give them 1 more try before trashing them. managed format them ext2 without problems, i'd use them on windows computers too.

installed udftools , dvd+rw tools , tried use
sudo mkudffs --media-type=dvdram /dev/sr0

format disks. unfortunately, response was:
"trying change type of multiple extents"


mean , how can fix that?

edit:
on forum, advised try dvd+rw-format /dev/dvd -format=full -ssa=default

format did complete, still same error mkudffs , still have no idea do.
