Blank Default Page - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi

i have noticed joomla site when set default menu item (eg. home link), serves blank page instead of page. url becomes:

http://localhost:8888/sitename.com.au/

however if type in http://localhost:8888/sitename.com.au/index.php page loads. page load if refresh it. doesnt automatically load when menu item clicked.

can tell me why occurs?

im using mamp , happens on both of sites have installed, , else works fine.

i have tried changing default template else, , disabling 3rd party modules. neither has effect. have set default menu item other options, same thing happens, whichever page chose, loads blank.

have checked home settings under menu manager main menu.

go menu manager -> main menu , home button. check settings linking. try , change article or contact or.. really, , see happens..
