1.5.14 php 5.2.8 mysql 5 i have installed jobs! extension. trying change settings , configure it, keep getting dreaded: failed change permissions of config file /home/user/public_html/administrator/components/com_jobs/config.php i know permissions , owernship, , have chmod 777 , chown me. there should no permissions errors. hello. i've 2 files - application.php , include.php (just dummy names). both these part of structured mvc component. i'm using code: select all $db =& jfactory::getdbo(); in include.php set database table field value variable. i'm including include.php in application.php, variable used in application.php. however, not working. because i've tried using mysql_connect (with direct database name, password) in include.php , working fine, suspect reason, jfactory in include.php not being parsed while getting included in application.php. my question - there way working without using mysql_connect ? - if choose use mysql_connect, secure enough if afterwards write-protect directory or access-protect file using htaccess ? not directly related joomla, wanted know considering joomla environment. thanks.. still not know why saving text ual information only and not binary information such photos.     if there advanced users out there point me in right direction of how save information contained in tlftextfield , mean information including text field , multiple photos 1 either xml file or similiar let me know. have server script can take data posted , create whatever kind of file  needed. know how send data flash file server. cannot seem extract information tlftextfield.   how getting binary data tlftextfield means of net.filereference.browse() , instead of net.filereference.upload() using net,filereference.load(). , using loader load , display information , add loader child of tlftextfield.
